Seoul's dermatology culture has been using ingredients that Western skincare is only now discovering. Here is what they understood, why it works, and how EUN brings it to your routine.

What is PDRN
and why does it matter?
PDRN stands for Polydeoxyribonucleotide. It is a molecule derived from salmon DNA that shares a 97% structural similarity with human DNA.
That similarity is not a marketing claim. It is the biological reason PDRN works.
When PDRN reaches the deeper layers of your skin, it activates a receptor called the adenosine A2A receptor. Think of this as a switch. When it is switched on, your skin enters repair mode. It begins producing more collagen. It reduces inflammation. It accelerates the natural healing cycle that slows down as we age and gets disrupted by environmental stress, harsh actives, and a compromised skin barrier.

A decade inside
Seoul's clinics.
PDRN is not new. Korean dermatologists have been using it in clinical treatments for over ten years. The most well-known application is Rejuran, a skin booster injection that became one of Seoul's most sought-after treatments for skin regeneration, barrier repair, and anti-ageing.
The results were consistently remarkable. Patients reported skin that looked healthier, felt calmer, healed faster after procedures, and maintained a quality of texture and tone that topical skincare had never delivered.
The reason it worked so well in a clinical setting was delivery. The injections placed PDRN directly into the dermis, the skin layer where collagen is produced and where the A2A receptor is most active. No barrier to cross. No distance to travel. Direct contact with the target.
2000s
PDRN begins clinical use in Korean dermatology for wound healing and post-procedure recovery.

Chapter 03
The one thing most
brands got wrong.
Here is the honest version of why most PDRN skincare products have not delivered what the ingredient promises.
PDRN molecules are large. Your skin barrier is extraordinarily good at keeping large molecules out. That is its job. When most brands add PDRN to a serum at a standard molecular weight and tell you to smooth it across your face, the molecule cannot cross the barrier effectively. It sits on the surface, acts as a basic humectant, and washes off.
This is not a theory. It is why thousands of skincare-educated consumers have tried PDRN products and felt nothing beyond ordinary hydration.
The ingredient was never reaching the skin layers where it does its work.
The problem
Standard PDRN molecular weight is too large to cross the skin barrier topically. It performs on the surface only.
